Does Rick die in The Walking Dead?<\/h2>\n

Rick Grimes died while blowing up a bridge to save his community from a horde of walkers \u2014 or so it seemed. To the rest of the characters on the show, until the series finale aired, he was as good as dead. But we see later that he was rescued by Jadis and taken away by a helicopter to an unknown location. The helicopter belonged to the Civic Republic Military. In the series finale, we find out that Rick was being held captive by them.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

What happened to Rick in The Walking Dead?<\/h2>\n

Shot on duty as the Sheriff\u2019s Deputy, Rick wakes up from a coma to discover a world overrun by the undead. As the show goes on, Rick\u2019s main role becomes one of guiding survivors through a post-apocalyptic world.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Rick loses his wife, Lori, to childbirth. His leadership, not without controversy, of course, sees the group through fights with other survivor factions like The Governor\u2019s Woodbury, Terminus, the Saviors led by Negan, and more.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Rick almost dies in season 9. In an attempt to divert a massive horde of walkers and save the community, Rick destroys a bridge. While doing so, he gets caught in the explosion. The communities believe Rick died, and they stick to this belief for a long time \u2014 until the big reveal.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

But, Rick survives the explosion. Jadis (also known as Anne) finds him, who\u2019s in communication with the Civic Republic Military (CR). She arranges for a helicopter to airlift an injured Rick to an undisclosed location. Rick doesn\u2019t make much of an appearance on the show after this.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The exact details of Rick\u2019s time with the CR and his whereabouts after being airlifted are not known. But hey, that\u2019s what the spin-off is about, at least, that\u2019s what we\u2019re hoping for. We saw a glimpse of what had happened to him with CR in the series finale \u2014 maybe he didn\u2019t have the best time in his years after the explosion.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Is Rick coming back to The Walking Dead?<\/h2>\n
